Rumi - When we are lost for words

Rumi

We are as the flute, and the music in us is from thee;
we are as the mountain and the echo in us is from thee.

We are as pieces of chess engaged in victory and defeat:
our victory and defeat is from thee, O thou whose qualities are comely!

Who are we, O Thou soul of our souls,
that we should remain in being beside thee?

We and our existences are really non-existence;
thou art the absolute Being which manifests the perishable.

We all are lions, but lions on a banner:
because of the wind they are rushing onward from moment to moment.

Their onward rush is visible, and the wind is unseen:
may that which is unseen not fail from us!

Our wind whereby we are moved and our being are of thy gift;

our whole existence is from thy bringing into being.

Blessings

I woke up this morning, and my first thought of the day was, I am truly blessed. I felt the security, warmth, and comfort of waking up in a peaceful country. I opened the blinds to see sailboats gently rocking on the water, and I wondered if the occupants also felt the joy of a new dawn.

I started my day, as usual with meditation. Later as I sipped my tea mindfully and I reflected on the past week. I quietly acknowledged and gave thanks to the universe for blessings bestowed on me, family, health, home, work, friends, and sustenance for my body and soul.

The true value of life, is to remind me of the universe's teachings. The teaching for this week; the value of family, friends and impermanence. Nothing remains the same, everything is forever changing, life forces are in transformation.

Be Truthful to Yourself

Do you ever feel that people don't know the real you, even those closes to you? Do you feel like an imposture, that you're living the life others want you to live? Do you sometimes think that you are different people to certain people in your life, partner, parents, siblings, boss, strangers, etc.?

No worries, this is typical feelings experience by most of us at some point in our lives.

The following is a simple exercise that assists me in 'keeping it real' .

  1. When asked what you think always give your true answer.
  2. When asking someone what they think, or if they have a preference on something don't let them defer their answer on to you
  3. Recognize your true self - You do this by being silent / breath deeply / take action when in a calm state
This seems simple enough, yes. But try it. It is more difficult than it appears. You will notice how often you or others defer what they think, want, or feel away from themselves on to you. But don't give up because this exercise will help you become more authentic in your relationship with others.

To be truly you - you must always stand in " What I think, want, or feel has valve". If it is difficult, then concentrate on your breath quietly. Wait in the silence when you are sitting in "I don't care" and from the silence, your true self which is love, happiness, and pure energy will emerge. With practice, the 'real you' becomes stronger and more defined.

Purpose

one evening I drank in this view of the setting sun... so amazingly beautiful. I am absolutely in awe of how magnificent nature's canvas is from one moment to the next. I melted into this exquisite scene staying in the moment. How can anything so amazingly beautiful not be appreciated or noticed? Yet, for sure, there are days, where this magnificence unfolds without being noticed by me.

Today the meaning of my life includes;

  • To accept that I create my reality, consciously and unconsciously
  • To acknowledge that the natural world as a magical, amazing, and timeless place
  • To be mindful in everything I do
  • To raise children to be conscious of the world and recognize the beauty in nature as the beauty in their soul; and to give 100 percent to what they are doing each moment
  • To assist people in being mindful, and to unitask rather than multitask
  • To be available to people searching for meaning to their life
How do I know this is my purpose in this life? Because when I am talking with people about being true to themselves, it feels right.
