It is an ideal place for meditation and reflection especially next to the waterfall and koi pond. Although, it is not so isolated that you don’t have access to the Internet or pizza delivery. lol

If you work in Kanata or Ottawa, the drive provides you with enough time to wash away your stress and as you approach the road leading to the house you’ll notice the weight of the workday fade. Really, you can’t buy therapy that works this well.

Your playground is the river. Swimming, sailing, kayaking, and canoeing are only steps to the beach.  Or maybe you just want to hang out on the hammock and read with the soothing sound of the waves against the shore. Summer evenings are perfect for roasting marshmallow on the fire by the shore and watching the sun set.

Transition

We never get tired of talking about the weather. It is most often the first comments we make to one another upon meeting. Do you think we talk about the weather because it is always changing? Nature is a perfect reminder of how temporary everything is. It is always influx and changing moment to moment.

Autumn Reflection

I've always been a morning person.  I am, wide awake as soon as my eyes open.  I don't need that cup of coffee to get me going. Ok, for those who know me, know that I don't drink coffee.  :)

Morning Fog

This morning when I looked out the window I could barely see the sailboat. I knew it was there, so I waited, and within seconds it appeared. Slowly ebbing on the water as the fog disappeared, which only serve to enhance the perfect moment of silence. Even the geese who were on the river throughout the night had already flown south.

 I love living by the river. It is peaceful and the scene is always changing. The pictures here were all taken within 10 minutes apart. Absolutely magnificent! Although, sometimes, I admit, I don't always notice.

But when I do, I marvel at how amazing it is to be able to witness nature unfolding as it does, effortlessly.  I am reminded in this moment, life on the river is, "like this".
